Installing Backtrack 5 R3 In Virtual Box Step By Step  ?

What is Backtrack ?

BackTrack was a distribution based on the Debian GNU/Linux distributionaimed at digital forensics and penetration testing use. it, loaded with lots of security and hacking tool.

Backtrack is one of the most used OS for hackers and Security Professional. I will try to explain most of tools.

Today i am going to show you How to install Backtrack 5 R3 in virtual Box

Step 1 :- First you need to be download backtack5 IOS file from Here

Step 2 :- Now open you Virtual Box and click on the New to create a new virtual machine > Choose your RAM size approx 2 GB. > Click on the create new virtual hard disk and choose the path > Provide your hard disk size > Finish

Step 3 :- Choose your iso file and start your installation.

Step 4 :- Hit enter to go boot screen then choose default boot text mode and hit enter

Step 5 :- Type startx to start GUI ( x server ) click on Install backtrack icon or open terminal type sh -c “ubiquity”

Step 6 :- continue like normal installation choose keyboard type and provide location info if you are installing just backtrack then go normally and erase and use entire disk or if you installing backtrack with other OS then specify partition accordingly ( in this tutorial m using virtual hard-drive )

Step 7 :- click on forward and click on install

wait until it finish installing it will take up-to 30 minutes depend on your system and click on the Restart computer.

Step 8 :- Enter username :- root  and Password :- toor

Type startx to start the GUI mode.

Now your Backtrack machine is ready to use.
